SIGN•GRIP3822™
[sg3822]
$15.00

SIGN•GRIP 3822™
50 ml.cartridge
SIGN•GRIP3822™ is a two-part epoxy with unmatched strength, which makes it an excellent choice for all your structural gluing. It is a urethane adhesive sold in 50-ml cartridges that insure a proper 1 to 1 mixing ratio straight out of the applicator gun. SIGN•GRIP3822™ has a 5 to 7 minute working time and dries to handle in 1 to 3 hours depending on temperature. SIGN•GRIP3822™ will dry to full strength in 12 to 24 hours. SIGN•GRIP3822™ will successfully adhere SIGN•FOAM3 to SIGN•FOAM3, as well as SIGN•FOAM3 to painted or raw metal.
50 ml. cartridgeThe edge joint is probably the most common glue application you will encounter, and this of course entails adhering SIGN•FOAM3 to itself. For edge joints as well as gluing letters to the face of a SIGN•FOAM3 sign, you can and apply SIGN•GRIP3822™ directly to the raw foam, spreading the glue liberally on one side only, and push the pieces firmly together. Clamp the pieces in place for one hour or until handling strength is achieved. The ideal bond line thickness is 10 to 40 mils. Should any glue ooze from the seam clean it up immediately, as it is always easier to clean it when it is still wet than after it has dried! You may use isopropyl alcohol or other organic solvents as a cleaning aid. You will also want to make sure you place a piece of paper or cardboard on the table or floor. Failure to do so may result in you gluing your sign to the floor! Vinyl carrier paper, with its waxy surface, is ideal since the glue will not stick to its surface.
Experienced woodworker's will be very familiar with the use of biscuits or dowels. This technique is not required to add strength to the joint. The gluing technique described above will give you a joint stronger than the material itself. You may however, employ biscuit joiners or dowels to help stabilize larger pieces of SIGN•FOAM3 that may be difficult to line up and hold in place.
A great way to add extra dimension to your sign is through appliqué’s. A set of cut out letters or perhaps a fully sculpted graphic glued to the face of a carved or sandblasted sign will set your work apart from everyday signage. You will want to use a small amount of SIGN•GRIP3822™ to attach appliqué’s.
